Feel My Heart - Prologue (Stark!Reader x Pietro)

“You are a crazy old man, Dad.”
“C'mon, kiddo. Think about it! See it as an extension of the Iron Legion.”
“Did you talk to Bruce about this?”
“Stop that. Please, listen to your father. For once.”

(y/n) gazed at her father.
He was right. She should listen to him, she should be happy to even have the fortune of being with him.
Considering the fact that five years ago, she was trapped in that orphanage where nobody believed her saying.
It really was ridiculously back then.  An orphan who claimed to be the daughter of Tony Stark?
Yeah, right. Nobody did believe that.

(y/n) Stark sighed and smiled at her father. “Go on.”
Anthony Stark walked to his daughter, showing her his sketches on a tablet. “Look at these prototypes I made. Those androids could operate independently as a peacekeeping force.”
He showed her the next picture with a swift move of his finger. “They could look like that. I mean, we still can change their appearance. You wanna add something?”
Impressed, (y/n) frowned and looked closely at her father's plans. “What about it's programming? We would need something really... big.”

Tony nodded and began to pace around in his lab. “Exactly. That's the crux of the matter. A really high level of A.I. would be necessary.”
He stopped, rubbed his eyes and suppressed a yawn. “Unfortunately me and Bruce weren't able to create something like that.”
(y/n) shrugged and turned the tablet off. “Maybe it's better that way.”

“I don't believe that. It could help us...” Tony said.
(y/n) stood up and walked to her father, rubbing his back. “Go to sleep, Dad. Rome wasn't built in a day either.”
He chuckled lightly and turned around to her. Then he leaned forward and gave her a kiss on her forehead.
She was amazed by his action, since physical affection from him was rare for her.

Just in time Maria Hill arrived at the Stark Tower, entering one of the glass elevators and pressing the right button to Tony's lab.
As she reached the right floor she stepped out and walked to the little Stark family.
“Good evening.” she greeted them and took her jacket off.
(y/n) smiled and hugged her. “Hi, Maria. Nice to see you.” “It's nice to see you, too.”

“What's the matter, Hill? I'm a very busy man.” Tony announced.
“Well, I'm not here for you, Tony. I wanted to see (y/n).” Maria answered and put her hands on her hips.
(y/n) rose an eyebrow. Maria looked at her with big eyes. “Theta Protocol.”
She immaterially knew and nodded at her. “I understand. Let's go somewhere more private.”

Tony starred at the women as they made their walk out of the lab. “Feta what? Feta cheese?”
Without turning around (y/n) waved her Dad away. “Go to sleep, Tony!”
He huffed. “I bet that has to do something with S.H.I.E.L.D.”

And he was right.
Back then when (y/n) was still in the orphanage, S.H.I.E.L.D. got her out. Agent Phil Coulson did that to be exactly.
When S.H.I.E.L.D. caught the rumors about a girl with extraordinary intelligence claiming to be a Stark, they sent agent Coulson to check on her.
After telling her story and showing him her remarkable technical inventions, he believed her.

He got her out of it and arranged her a job at S.H.I.E.L.D.
(y/n) worked for them several months before confronting her father.
Tony didn't know about her existence since (y/n)'s mother didn't tell him after their one-night stand.
She believed that he wouldn't be a good father to their daughter because of his regularly parties and numerous women.
(y/n) didn't know about her father's identity either until her mother's death by a car accident when she was ten years old. Her last words to (y/n) were his name.

(y/n) tried to tell everyone, tried to convince them but no one believed her. Except Phil several years later when she was almost grown up.

After Phil's death during the New York Attack (y/n) was devastated.
Luckily her Clearance Level was eight so they made an exception for her and told her that he's alive.

Since the first meeting of the Avengers, which she's a part of it, she worked for her father's company or helped S.H.I.E.L.D out even after it's fall.

Maria and her landed in one of the business rooms. She quickly took a seat and turned her laptop on.
“The connection is safe?” she asked while typing.
(y/n) nodded and sat down next to her. “Yep. Did he found it?”
“I don't know. He said I should call him tonight, then he would tell me.” Maria answered and pressed the enter key. “There we go.”

“Calling Phil Coulson” displayed on the screen.
After a few seconds he answered. “Hi. Can you hang on a second?”
(y/n) smiled when she heard his voice. “Hey, uncle Phil.”
That was her pet name of him. She really loved him like an uncle.

After another few seconds, Coulson himself appeared on the screen. “(y/n)! You're here, too? Good to see you!”
“It's good to see you, too. Busy fighting for being Director?” she asked playfully.

Phil sighed. “I just had to get rid of Gonzales to answer this call.”
“I bet Gonzales wasn't happy when you said he wasn't invited to this chat.” Maria said and leaned back in her seat.
“Well, I wasn't too happy when he blew a hole in my base and kicked me out. We all live with disappointments.” Phil answered and (y/n) giggled.

“Right now, we have bigger problems.” he continued and grabbed for his tablet.
“Does that mean you found it?” (y/n) asked curiously.

Phil plugged an USB flash drive into his tablet.
“I'm guessing HYDRA doesn't know Loki's scepter was the weapon that killed me but... I bet they know it can control minds.”

In sync with his words several pictures appeared on the screen, showing some graphics of Loki's scepter.
“In their hands that's catastrophic... Coulson, please tell me you know where it is.” Maria asked alerted.

“Sokovia.” Phil answered without any hesitation.

“Sokovia...” (y/n) thought. “That sounds weird.”

“Pretty sure List is heading there right now.” Phil declared and typed something.
“Data Packet Received.” displayed on the screen of Maria's laptop combined with more pictures of the scepter.

“I've just sent you everything I found on Strucker's location.” Phil explained.
Maria looked confused. “Coulson... why didn't you just tell Gonzales what you really wanted to get on to the HYDRA base?”
“Believe it or not, he put's every decision to a vote.” he answered and Maria showed a shocking look.
“I know.” Phil huffed. “And I was pretty sure if I'd be honest, I would lost the swing vote, so I did what I had to do.”

“Wait, guys...” (y/n) interrupted them and shook her head in confusion. “Theta Protocol. Is it ready?”
Silence lingered, slowly building some kind of tension in the room.
“It is.” Phil answered stern. “Time to bring in the Avengers.”

(y/n) felt her heartbeat fasten. “Alright. I'll call for them.”
While getting up, a cunning grin curled up on her lips.

“I think Daddy needs to get the tower ready.”
